i've come across this stuff on a couple other sites by others that post the same material. i've come across other sites that discount it as completely or mostly untrue. anyone that creates a website can send out whatever they wish, but it'd be great if they didn't advertise it as if they not only lived then, but surveyed everyone they speak of as to their habits and lifestyle. it's speculation at best.
because it was too inconvenient to heat up frequent baths in winter does not mean no one washed and stunk up the county except for may.
you often get what you pay for surfing the 'net.

I'm from England and the last "fact" is completely wrong. Even in the 21st century we still have enough place to bury people. Neither did we used to bury people alive accidentally, let alone put string attached to a bell!! All of the rest are equally incorrect. Please don't post such fanciful lies in the future

Very entertaining..however mostly not true, example; tomatos were not introduced in Europe until the mid to late 1600 by the Spanish bringing back such things as cacao (chocolate), tomatos, vanilla, etc. from the New Spain (Mexico) and the rest of the New World..they should have brought over a root used by the Aztecs, and Mayans (which name espcapes me) which was used as deodorant...would have been worth more that all the gold and silver they pundered...LOL

Not a single statement of fact is presented here. Check out snopes.com or read the fantastic book "The Abacus and the Cross: The Story of the Pope Who Brought the Light of Science to the Dark Ages" which highlights the place of science, reason, and inventiveness in the "Middle Ages."

What complete dross. It never ceases to amaze me how easily people are taken in by anything presented as "fact".

Teki,

Don't make yourself look stupid. Articles on snopes.com list all their sources very clearly at the bottom of the page, unlike this ridiculous email forward which lists no sources whatsoever. Re-read it with a bit of a critical eye and you'll realize how absurd it sounds.
